Re: Chamaerops vulcano x cerifera

Hi, Gilian,
your nice little one - where is it living?
Norway? England? Ireland? Spain? Siberia? Netherlands?

I would be very interested to know where a cham. humilis vulcano x cerifera is growing "ok" outside.

This forum is attended mostly by people who's primary issue with outdoor palms is not the choice of fertilizer but climate and weather. As you have not mentioned any winter protection I suppose your palm is planted in some winter-mild  climate zone. Nevertheless it would be interesting to know where.

Thanks

ufa

Re: Chamaerops vulcano x cerifera

Hi ufa,

Gillian lives in the Netherlands, so in a relatively mild climate.

Palmbooster is similar to Superthrive with the same active ingredient, which is auxin. This is not a fertilizer, but rather a growth hormon that optimizes the growth of roots and later on the growth of the entire palm. This is especially helpful with palms that are planted outside, as it improves quickly the hardiness and prepares them for winter temperatures.
